The Full Moon Hotel at Sandgate has a gated play area for the kids so you can enjoy a cool drink, and a great view, while the kids play.

At a glance-

  • there are high chairs and booster seats
  • there is baby change facilities
  • plenty of space for a pram and for the toddlers to move
  • child friendly staff
  • gluten free options on the menu
  • kid’s menu
  • kid’s eat free before 6.30pm Monday to Friday

The Full Moon Hotel is pub that has made an effort to make families feel welcome. One corner of the dining room has been gated to create The Milky Way- a space just for them with toys, movies and PS3′s. Our two had a great time playing until their food arrived. Their meals were first out which I find is an added bonus when out with the little diner. Once their lunch was finished, they headed back for a bit more of a play while we enjoyed our lunch, and conversation. Yes. Conversation. We got a chance to have a chat over a meal which is a treat these days!

The staff are welcoming, and are obviously well experienced in catering for families. The food is fairly typical pub food- nothing too out of the box, but certainly not disappointing it’s impressive to a see written reminder at the bottom of the kid’s menu to eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegies. Haven’t seen that on any other restaurants.

A relaxing meal, and a great view.
