When spring is upon us, our thoughts turn to strawberries, and our annual pilgrimage north of Brisbane to pick our own strawberries. Once a year, we have a fun day out, and end up with so many strawberries that we don’t want to see another one until next Spring.
We head north to Twist Brothers farm which is just off the Bruce Highway, taking the Palmwoods exit. Just punch in 447 Chevallum Rd, Palmwoods, QLD, 4555 into the sat nav, and you’re away.
The boys have been every year for the last 3 years, so when they hear we’re going strawberry picking, they get very exited. This year was a whole family affair, and my parents, sister and brother in law came along for the adventure.
Can you see all those strawberries. There were HEAPS this year, and as usual we came home laden with them.
Twist Brothers farm has some picnic tables, so after our picking we sat down for a drink and some snacks before heading off to the Maleny Real Food Festival. It was a brilliant day out that the kids kids enjoyed immensely also. The dates for strawberry picking vary year to year, so if you’re unsure as to whether you can pick your own, give Twist Borthers a call on (07) 54459251. The Maleny Real Food Festival post is coming soon…..
