Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay

Gardens By The Bay For Kids

The first thing we did at Gardens by the Bay, was the Cloud Forest. When you walk in, you will be greeted by a massive waterfall. You can then walk around the gigantic dome and view the huge variety of plants and displays.

We saw multiple beautiful and stunning plants that could make anyone say wow. The amazing bridge around the inside of the main building gives a wonderful view of the plants from above. Visitors will defiantly be astounded.

Kids will enjoy learning about the reason of the Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay. Once you have finished in the dome, you can watch a short educational video to learn more about the quest to save the planet. Because the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time, is now.

Cloud forests like this one in Singapore exist to help visitors understand that, towards the end of the century, higher sea surface temperatures caused by global warming will result in clouds forming at higher altitudes than they do today. This means that cloud forest plants left high and dry will die out. It is up to us to work together to combat climate change.

Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay

Gardens By The Bay For Kids

After we went to the Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay, we visited the Flower Dome, home to flowers and displays from around the world. We thought that this dome was beautiful! You could see so many unique flowers and displays from various countries around the world. Both domes are a cool place to escape from the heat and humidity of Singapore.

Some of the areas included, the Australian garden, the Mediterranean garden, the South African garden, the South American garden, the Californian garden, the Succulent garden, the Olive Grove, the Flower Field and the Boababs. They all offered incredible sights!

Kids will enjoy walking around the multiple areas and displays. You can walk inside miniature temples, see mini Ferris wheels and much more. There is also a restaurant inside of the dome called Pollen. And it’s also the worlds largest glass greenhouse as of 2015.

OCBC Skyway and Supertree Grove

Gardens By The Bay For Kids

The OCBC Skyway is a great way to see the Supertrees. Located in Supertree Grove, you can see an spectacular view of Marina Bay and the Supertrees. Kids will enjoy taking the lift through one of the larger trees to walk across a beautifully coloured bridge with an outstanding view. The Gardens by the Bay skyway is a fantastic place to see a birds eye view of the surrounding area too!

There is a restaurant at the top of one of the trees too – check out the Supertree restaurant menu here. Supertree Grove is such a wonderful place to be and you can take pretty good photos too.

Gardens by the Bay Light Show

The gardens really comes alive at night when you can watch the Rhapsody Sound and Light show. We enjoyed watching as the Supertrees came alive through wonderful lights and sound. The Gardens by the Bay show has multiple different shows and sessions are at 7:45pm and 8:45pm. I strongly encourage you to see the Garden by the Bay night show. It’s truly moving.

Children’s Garden by the Bay

Gardens By The Bay For Kids

The last thing on our list that we did at our trip to Gardens by the Bay was the Children’s Garden. This area houses a wonderful waterplay activity full of fun things that children of all ages would enjoy. Oh, and that’s not all.

Gardens by the Bay Kids Activities

In the Children’s Garden at Gardens by the Bay kids can expect to see an enormous treehouse play area, an obstacle course, a playground and some super fun slides.

Any children’s garden Singapore has to offer will be hot, so pack protective clothing, sunscreen and hats. We also thought the slides could be a bit glary and burny in the sun, but they are still really fun for kids of all ages.

There was also a smaller splash area for younger children so they could have fun too. Overall, the Children’s Garden at Gardens by the bay in Singapore is an amazing thing for younger and older children alike.
