Date Night at Little Miss Sunshine: Bistro, Brewery & Sunshine Vibes in Brisbane CBD

Sharing is caring!

After a long week at work, we decided to sneak in a quick city escape before heading home to the kids. And what better way than a date night at Little Miss Sunshine, Brisbane’s vibrant bistro with its very own brewery?

Full disclosure: We actually visited LMS previously with the teens for dinner but wanted to revisit without them… this is our ‘Get Out with(out) Kids section of the website afterall! 😉

Located right in the heart of the CBD, LMS immediately grabbed our attention with its electric vibe and Sunshine State charm. From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like a place designed for fun, connection, and great food — all wrapped in a colorful, modern space with a hint of industrial chic. Neon signs, graffiti-inspired murals and comfortable seating made it feel lively yet welcoming.

Here is my Instagram reel of our visit with the kids:

Dining & Drinks: A Culinary Journey

The menu at LMS is all about storytelling through food and beverages. Each dish is inspired by travels, local produce, or the chef’s creative journey, which made the experience feel thoughtful and personal.

We shared a few small plates and a main each, everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour. The locally sourced ingredients really shone through. And of course, we couldn’t resist trying a couple of LMS craft beers straight from their brewery. Each sip paired perfectly with our meals, making the evening feel indulgent without being over the top.

Get Out with(out) Kids Tip: If you love trying something new, ask the staff for their current beer recommendations, they’re passionate and will guide you through the perfect pairing.

The Atmosphere: Sunshine & Energy

The beauty of LMS isn’t just in the food or drinks, it’s the electric energy in the air. The bistro manages to balance a lively, fun vibe with an intimate, date-friendly feel. Soft background music mixes with the chatter of fellow diners, creating a bustling yet relaxed space where you can connect with your partner without shouting across the table.

We spent a few hours enjoying the ambience, laughing over a few shared plates, and soaking in the city buzz, all before heading home to the kids. It felt like a little escape, right in the heart of Brisbane.

Extras That Make LMS Shine

Little Miss Sunshine is more than a date night spot. The bistro also hosts birthday parties, cocktail events, corporate gatherings and exclusive weekend bookings, making it a versatile destination for any occasion. Even on a regular weeknight, you can sense the community-driven warmth and creativity that the team puts into every element of the venue.

Our Verdict

If you’re looking for a fun, flavoursome, and vibrant date night in Brisbane, Little Miss Sunshine ticks all the boxes. From the thoughtful dishes and local craft beers to the sunshine-inspired décor and buzzing energy, it’s a spot where you can relax, enjoy, and feel a little transported before heading back to the everyday.

We left smiling, full, and already thinking about our next visit, maybe a weekend cocktail event or an evening with live music.
