REVIEW: Breakfast at BrewDog Brisbane with Kids!

Sharing is caring!

Did you know… BrewDog in Murarrie isn’t just a craft brewery. They do food and they now do breakfast too on the weekends!? It’s delicious and the venue is awesome. My family and I went to check their Murarrie location (they have a Fortitude Valley venue too!) out on Saturday, so we could report back and let you know what it was like. Be prepared to drool… you know I love a good breakfast, and this Brisbane dining venue has a quirky twist on some old favourites that you are going to love!

As always, this review is an honest reflection of our breakfast experience and at the bottom, I have embedded my Instagram video, so you can watch that too!

Located right on the south side of the Brisbane River, it is located almost under the Gateway Bridge and opposite the Queensland Golf Club (which is on the north side of the river!) The view is gorgeous which is why it also made our ‘Restaurants with a View in Brisbane‘ list too!

There is ample parking on site and on the surrounding streets and when we were there (we arrived at 9am), we clearly didn’t have an issue finding a space.

Atmosphere at BrewDog

As you can see from my photos and my Instagram video below, the venue has room to spare — I’d call it ‘industrial chic’ with high ceilings, surrounded by river views and both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside, which gave our breakfast a relaxed, airy feel. I love those blue booths inside too!

Walk-ins are accepted, though bookings are preferred, especially on busy weekend mornings.

As with many brewery/restaurant venues, it can get busy/noisy, especially later in the morning. It was really very quiet when we were there on the Saturday morning, but perhaps bear the noise factor in mind if you are there later on a more busy Sunday morning if you are there with younger kids (or kids sensitive to noise).

I love that they are both kid and dog friendly too!

BrewDog Murarrie has recently introduced a weekend breakfast service that leans into their signature boldness: think full “pub-style” breakfasts, creative twists, and inclusivity for dietary needs.

Full Breakfasts with a Twist

Each of the “full” breakfasts is priced at $26.95 and reinterprets a national style with BrewDog flair: a Full English, Full Irish (featuring white pudding), Full Scottish (with tattie scones), and Full Welsh (steamed cockles take centre stage).

Whilst the kids went for the regular Full English breakfasts, I tried the Scottish version — the homemade tattie scones lend an authentic texture and earthiness not often found on generic brunch menus.

My brother-in-law had the Full Irish breakfast which leans into richness (white pudding and hearty components), while my sister enjoyed the vegetarian. She was the only one who could finish her meal… the rest beat us and were larger than we expected! 5/5 for portion size!

The Welsh version, with steamed cockles, is bold and somewhat unexpected, showcasing that BrewDog is unafraid to push beyond the usual bacon-egg-sausage clichés. They might be bold… but we were not… so sadly, I have no photo of the Welsh version to show you…

Because these dishes are built from classic “full breakfast” archetypes, you still get all the familiar staples — eggs, bacon, sausage, grilled tomato, mushrooms — but with these distinctly regional and sometimes inventive additions.

Dietary Flexibility

True to their venue ethos, BrewDog offers gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options across their food menus.

On the kids’ side of things, they encourage swapping proteins or ingredients to plant-based or gluten-free versions on request.

Kids’ Breakfast

The kids’ breakfast option includes bacon, eggs, and toast ($13) — a simple but reliable offering. You can expect that it’s intentionally basic, intended to satisfy little ones without intimidating them with too many bells and whistles.

It was a quiet Saturday morning when we were there. The staff quickly found our booking and seated us at a prepared table outside. The wait staff were also friendly and attentive. Our meals came quickly too! If you are thinking about breakfast here, I recommend booking in advance and securing an outside table in good weather, it is lovely!

What was great about BrewDog (alongside the great food and service) is that there definitely is entertainment here for kids of all ages.

As you can see in my above photo, the playground is fully fenced and can be seen from the nearby tables. This is super helpful for parents of little kids.

If you have older kids (like we do) then the arcade room and the pinball machines are a great drawcard! Even the parents got in on the fun! We also loved the photo booth – I can imagine the fun photos that are taken in there later at night! 😉

The bathrooms were clean and spacious and there was a uni-sex bathroom with change facilities for parents.

Highlights

The highlights for me were the little touches that made breakfast feel more than just the usual bacon and eggs. I loved that the menu offered different “full” breakfast styles — my Scottish version with tattie scones was a real standout.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the venue itself felt really spacious, which made it comfortable even as it got busier. I also appreciated the practical things: plenty of free onsite parking, a baby change table in the unisex bathroom, and the option to head off for a walk along the river afterwards.
