Recently we were invited to have breakfast at the lovely Ancora Bistro (part of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron) in Manly, so we could report back to you on our experience.

Located on the Manly Esplanade, Ancora Bistro is a wonderful restaurant for the entire family. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and definitely worth putting on your bucket list.

The bistro is easy to find with heaps of parking.

Ancora Bistro is also on our kids eat free Brisbane list, which you can read here! Places Where Kids Eat Free In Brisbane!

We loved the food!!

The kids pancakes were HUGE, and the food was SCRUMPTIOUS, and that is definitely a good thing when you go out for a meal!

The staff are exceptional and it was so easy to communicate with them. They brought out the food quickly and made changes to our table when the sun came out and we got a bit hot.

While we waited for the meals, we walked down the pontoons and fed the fish! The kids loved it.

The menu offered a wide variety of food, which was really tasty. The breakfast pancakes were amazing!

Not only was the food delicious, but the restaurant itself was large and comfortable for us to enjoy a delicious meal. All the facilities were clean as well.  The area for the kids was outdoors and could be seen from most of the bistro. They have just installed a brand new playground, so the kids can enjoy that while the adults are chatting at their table.

If you have very small children, you will have to watch them if they head out onto the grassed area as there is no fence separating the dining area from the water area where they launch the boats.

The area seemed very casual and relaxed. In the morning we had breakfast, most of the other customers were families.

Highlights

I thought the menu was a wonderful standard. We were there for breakfast but the restaurant seemed to have a nice atmosphere throughout the day. Please keep in mind it is on the edge of a marina, but the kids could have a little splash in the ocean.

Overview

The bistro had a nice vibe about it. The kids loved their meals, and they even eat free on Mondays, with every paying adult. The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and the facilities were on point! Overall this is a great place for families to have breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, whenever you’re in the area.

Get Out With Kids Tip – Before or after your meal, we recommend you take your scooters or bikes on the Manly foreshore for a ride, and if you visit on Sunday you could even stop at the markets!
