Yeppoon Lagoon

The Yeppoon Lagoon is the jewel in the crown of the Yeppoon foreshore precinct. The 2500 square-metre resort-style lagoon pool is located right on the beachfront and includes a shallow children’s play area, an informal lap swimming area and a swim-up infinity edge with stunning views over the Keppel Islands.

Yeppoon Lagoon is a wonderful place for families to relax in the heat of Queensland. The free to use public lagoon is over 2.5m deep and 100s of meters wide. There are cafes and restaurants nearby to grab a snack also. There is lots of shade around but most of it will already be taken, so if you plan to spend a while, get there early.

The surrounding parklands include barbecues and shades areas great for picnics or a relaxing way to while away an afternoon with stunning views under the tropical foliage.

Entry to the Lagoon is free and is patrolled Monday to Sunday including Public Holidays.

The Yeppoon Lagoon is located right in the heart of Yeppoon and just minutes from luxury beachfront accommodation, gourmet dining and a thriving retail precinct, so why not come and experience all the Capricorn Coast has to offer.

Activities Near Yeppoon Lagoon

Yeppoon Lagoon is the main feature, but the Yeppoon area isn’t just limited to that for water activity.

Yeppoon Main Beach

As the name suggests, Yeppoon Main Beach is the main beach in the centre of town. It is a wonderful beach you can visit when you visit Rockhampton and you are heading down to Yeppoon. The beach has relatively small waves which makes it perfect for families but the centrepiece is the water-park (pictured above) that is great for little kids.

There are also many cafes and shops near the beach where you can grab a meal before or after a swim. We grabbed subway for lunch when we were in the area.
