REVIEW: Waves Buffet Restaurant | Affordable Breakfast on the Gold Coast

Sharing is caring!

We’re not going to lie to you, our family loves a good buffet. So much so that we write about them often on our website! So when we were invited to have breakfast at the Waves Buffet Restaurant on the Gold Coast, we leapt at the chance. As always, our feedback is honest and accurately reflects on our experience.

Below you will find our thoughts about our experience of our breakfast at Waves Buffet Restaurant, located in the Voco Gold Coast hotel. The buffet is on Hamilton Avenue, and an easy eight minute walk from Cavill Avenue.

Dining at this meal was 1 adult + 3 kids (aged 12, 14, 16).

Upon entering Waves Buffet Restaurant, we immediately noticed the abundance of space. The restaurant felt open and airy, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. We had a table towards the far end of the buffet, which was perfect for 4 people.

We have been lucky enough to sample so many different restaurants while running the Get Out With Kids website, so we know when something is good and when it isn’t. The buffet offered so many different options of food, hot and cold alike. You can see in the photos just how much variety there was.

There was also juice, iced water, as well as tea and coffee, and hot chocolate.

Highlights

The absolute highlight of the restaurant was the location, with a tram stop and Q1 Skypoint across the street. We loved all the food too, from the pancakes to the poached eggs, and the assorted cold meats to the salads, (Yep! Salads at breakfast).

We were there for breakfast, but the restaurant is also open for dinner, with so many different cuisines to choose from (including a chocolate fountain!), but their dinner specialty is seafood.
