Get Out With Kids – Editor,  Alex and his family stayed as guests at Voco, Gold Coast in March 2023.

On this trip our family consists of 1 adult + 3 kids (aged 12, 14, 16), so our experience is based on that. Why is this a great family hotel on the Gold Coast?

There are so many reasons to love Voco Gold Coast, and we’re about to go through them all below!

The rooms

It all starts with the welcoming rooms! We stayed in interconnecting rooms on Floor 6! Both rooms had two double beds, so none of us had to share a bed! Our windows looked over the one of the pools with city views, but the other side looked over the other pool with ocean views!

Inside the rooms, we had flat screen TVs as well as free Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel also offers room service with a menu in each room.

Swimming pools

Voco Gold Coast

After we scoped out the rooms, we went straight down to test out both pools! The pools are located on the first and second floor, facing west and east, with views for sunrise and sunset! One of the pools also has a spa, so you can enjoy the water no matter the weather!

Kids activities

Voco Gold Coast

After our swim at the pool, we had a blast playing some of the giant games the hotel had on offer. We tried our hand at the bean bag throw, giant Jenga, and giant connect four. We had heaps of fun with all the games!

L’Aqua Day Spa

The L’Aqua Day Spa, located on level two, and mum went to check it out. She said that it smelled amazing and the ambiance looked like a wonderful way to relax. The spa offers a range of treatments, including beauty treatments, body scrub, body wrap, facials, foot bath, foot reflexology, manicures, pedicures, and waxing. The spa is open from 11am to 7pm. Sadly mum was too busy hanging out with us to try any of the treatments… #nexttime 😉

Play area

The hotel also sports a play area for the younger members of the family, with buildings blocks and mini restaurants to play shop. Located in the lobby, this play area is not one to miss!

Restaurants at Voco Gold Coast

There are three dining options in the hotel which we’ve described below!

Clifford’s Grill & Lounge

Enjoy delicious food cooked by some of the best chefs on the Gold Coast, with delicious steaks, gnocchi and so many other options. We enjoyed our main course for dinner here and we got a kick out of seeing the trams rattle past while we ate. The kids waved to the passengers trying to see how many would wave back! #dinnerandashow

Clifford’s Grill & Lounge is open Wednesday through Sunday, 5:30pm – 11:00pm.

Waves Buffet Restaurant

Because we were invited to the hotel to experience all things, after our mains, we were lucky enough to be allowed to head over to Waves buffet, not for dinner (we are piggies, but we’re not THAT bad) but for dessert. Once the kids got wind of the chocolate fountain, there was no stopping them!

Here guests and the general public can enjoy freshly cooked cuisine, made by the talented chefs delivering flavours from around the world straight to your taste buds. Families dining can relax, knowing their little ones are catered to with kids’ cutlery, and family-friendly food options. So, feast, chat, sit back, and relax.

Social House

Recharge at the café with gourmet house-made sandwiches, wraps, or pastries, or treat yourself to their delicious breakfast menu. You can sit in and people-watch with a fresh juice and sweet treat while setting up your day, or choose from their grab-and-go section if your day is already running. Social House is open every day from 7am – 10pm.
