Ah, New Year’s Eve Melbourne, VIC. If you’re wondering where are the best places to see the New Years Eve fireworks in Melbourne while you are eating dinner with your kids, this list has the details you need to know.

Let’s face it, the thought of staying up til midnight with kids in the house who will be up at 5am just doesn’t make it sound too enticing does it? Luckily, there’s lots of family friendly events that happen before midnight so families can watch the fireworks and get home to bed before everyone loses their rag!

Yarra Park fireworks

NOT CONFIRMED 2021

At Yarra Park between 6:15pm and 10pm the Family Precinct will be in full swing. Bring a picnic rug and some of your favourite treats for a child friendly dinner, and count down to the fireworks at 9.30pm.

Right next to the MCG, Yarra Park is bound by Punt Road Oval, Brunton Ave and Wellington Parade. The 9.30pm Fireworks at Yarra Park brings together all the exciting parts of celebrating the new year without the late night out. Families can enjoy free stage entertainment, films and a spectacular fireworks display at 9.30pm. All entertainment is duplicated in two distinct zones across the site to assist with large crowds.

If heading out for dinner is more your style of celebrating the beginning of 2021, here are a few suggestions of some child friendly restaurants around inner Melbourne where you can catch the fireworks.
