The venue is fitted with floor to ceiling windows to make the most of the Docklands view, so both the tastebuds coupled with a feast for your eyes is pretty much guaranteed!

2. Melba Restaurant | Southbank

Located within the 5 star hotel entitled ‘The Langham’ within the busy Southbank area, is this beautiful restaurant. 

It has spectacular views of the Yarra River and the city’s skyline. It provides a range of international cuisine for you to try including various food stations such as sushi, Chinese, Italian, Indian, a chocolate fountain to finish off your meal is a must! 

Due to its location it is ideal as a pre-theatre starter or as an intimate dinner for two or even as a banquet for family and friends.  Prices differ per person and depends on the day of the week that you visit.  Seafood in particular is a big favourite here with prawns, sea urchins, salmon, mussels, oysters and crabs to name but a few.

3. The Conservatory Restaurant & Buffet | Southbank

This opulent venue with its marble floors and very lavish décor allows you to escape –  you could be forgiven for thinking you are dining within the French capital of Paris. 

This very regally and sumptuously decorated location is set within the Crown in the Southbank district. Views of the Yarra Valley and a spectacular array of food throughout the venue makes this a real treat to behold.  Lunch buffets are also available between 12 and 2.30pm so why not break up your day and enjoy a visit (but you may have to sleep off the rest of the day after all that seafood!!).

4. Lobster Cave | Beaumaris

20 km South East of the CBD is this lovely restaurant situated in Beaumaris, a Bayside suburb.  With 30 years experience in the seafood industry, you can trust the staff here to take very good care of you with dishes including Moreton Bay bugs, lobster, oysters to name but a few. 

Takeaway options are also available.  People travel miles to enjoy this delicious food, such is the reputation of the chefs within, so take a stroll around the Bayside and enjoy a great feast in this popular place.

The main menu, meanwhile, is vast and includes favourites such as oysters, Moreton Bay bugs served in a variety of ways, prawns to name but a few.  Prices are widely ranging so there is something for all budget types here.  If you are visiting the city, then you can’t go too far wrong with a visit to this location if you love your seafood.

6. The Atlantic | Southbank

Another restaurant with the Crown resort in Melbourne, this beautiful venue boasts views of the Yarra Valley and the city skyline. 

The menu is not a traditional seafood buffet, however the seafood on offer is vast. If you are struggling to choose then why not try a tasting menu which is available and offers a number of treats to try (and share). You can even sample delicacies such as caviar.

7. Argo Fishop | Fitzroy North

Seafood baskets, poke bowls, and favourites such as prawns and mussels, fish curries to name but a few are all available at this location.  This trendy looking and relaxed venue offers a vast range of seafood.  The option of seafood baskets to share makes for a nice twist and allows you to order a varying amount of food to trial! 

A family favourite located just 4 km north east of the CBD, this is a favourite for tourists and locals alike.  Takeaway options are also available.
