The Sydney Powerhouse is a wonderful place to visit on a rainy day in Sydney! You can learn about so many cool things, ranging from the Apollo 11 mission to the Boulton and Watt engine. There’s something for everyone at the Sydney Powerhouse Museum.

Go to an aquatic centre

There are heaps of great aquatic centres in and around Sydney! If you’re all ready wet, does it even matter? Grab the kids and your swimmers, and go to the pool! We recommend the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, but any will do! 

Go indoor rock climbing

Did you just google “kids rock climbing Sydney”? Maybe you’re looking for some indoor rock climbing Sydney for kids? This is the place to be. If it’s to wet for a walk in the park, why not take the kids rock climbing! There are so many different walls and routes, it would be almost impossible to not find one that suits you!

Hands up… who misses ice skating? Yeah, me too. Why not change that all right now. Go and get your warm clothes, and the kids too, and go ice skating. Our kids love the Sydney Ice Zoo, but you can visit any you like!

Go see a film

The cinema is a great place to go on a rainy day in Sydney! And as a plus, it brings an hour and a bit of entertainment that you don’t have to worry about! Visit a trampoline park

Sydney Tower Eye

The Sydney Tower Eye is the tallest structure in Sydney, and the second tallest in the Southern Hemisphere! When we visited we loved the view from the top, and we think you’ll love it too!

Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds in Sydney is another wonderful place to visit when it’s raining! It’s completely indoors, so you don’t need to worry! The kids can meet so many famous celebs like Albert Einstein, to world leaders like Queen Elizabeth II.

Things to do on a rainy day at home

If you don’t feel like going out, (I don’t blame you), we’ve made a list of all the things you can do at home on a rainy day!

Make arts and crafts

Arts and crafts is one of the best things you can do at home on a rainy day. Maybe you could draw a beautiful picture, or cover something in glitter. It’s time to get crafty!

Get some coloring books

The amount of satisfaction that coloring inside the lines brings you is amazing! Why not get the kids into this too? Find some coloring books, or you can get some from a shop, and start coloring.

Dress up in costumes

This is so much fun for kids while their at home on a rainy day. Pop down to your local costume shops, and grab some costumes! Maybe they could put on a play, or pretend they’re wild animals.
